ABOUT US

Meet Our Team

Our Founder / Executive Director

LeAnna Headley is a recent graduate from James Madison University where she studied Social Work with a minor in Family Studies. In 2014, when she was just 14 years old, she started a small Instagram account called Our Amazing Fighters to raise awareness, follow children’s battles, and share the stories of kids fighting pediatric cancer. This moment was one that would change the whole trajectory of her life. As she truly began to learn the horrific reality that childhood cancer entails, she felt called to do something more, something tangible for the kids, and her nonprofit was born.

Remembering Megan Bugg

img-3100_orig_edited_edited.jpg

Megan Bugg was a fierce pediatric cancer advocate. Diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in 2014, she battled the disease 7 times in 7 years before passing away on March 9, 2022. Megan was a loyal friend, avid animal lover, and had a laugh that could light up any room. During her battle with cancer, she raised over a million dollars for pediatric cancer research, literally funding the treatments that could have saved her own life. Megan was a board member for Our Amazing Fighters and spent her time serving with other pediatric cancer nonprofits. Megan is deeply missed, and we at Our Amazing Fighters are grateful to have known her friendship and to have had her as a part of our team.
